Great Flying Season Opening for Icaro at Bassano!
First International European Competition in 1999!  The 19th International Flight Meeting that takes place at Bassano (Italy), every year during the Easter Holidays, ended yesterday with an excellent balance for Icaro and Icaro pilots. The weather was excellent, 5 tasks were flown in 5 days, plus the new location in San Zeno di Cassola, is much better and the organization was great.

The competition results were even more amazing: Manfred Ruhmer won the first place overall, Robert Reisinger came in second and Icaro had 9 pilots within the first 10. Oleg Bondarchuck came in third, being the only pilot not flying a Laminar in the first 10 places.

There were a total of 78 pilots competing with 28 of them flying Laminar and most of these placing in the top half of the ranking list (24 within the first 40).
Moreover, each task was won by a Laminar pilot (Manfred 4 and Robert 1)!
The manufacturer’s trophy -of course-  was awarded to Icaro 2000 and the Austrians (flying Laminar) got the team’s first place, the Italians came in second and the British came in third.

Brazilian Nationals
Manfred's debut in the 1999 flying season was a smash hit!
The Brasilian Nationals and Brazil Open de Vôo Livre, took place from March 14-20 in Governador Valadares. There were 6 competition dates and the overall winner was Manfred Ruhmer winning 5 out of 6 tasks
LaminarST  keeps beeing the best
The new Brazilian Champion is Andre Wolf, with a Laminar ST!! Moreover, 5 pilots flying Icaro gliders placed under the top 10!!  Way to go Icaro Pilots!
